Sophie began her swimming career in the Learn To Swim section at Bedworth, Warwickshire.

Sophie represented her Swimming Clubs, County Associations and Midland Associations between 1996 – 2007.  Sophie was an all-round international swimmer.  Sophie represented Great Britain and England in both the Individual Medley (an event with all four stroke) and Breaststroke from 2000 – 2007.

Sophie went to the World Student Games in 2007, European Short Course in 2005 and 2007 where she was often seen in the semi finals and the World School Games in 2002 where she received a Bronze medal .  Sophie also competed for Great Britain in the 4 and 6 Nations in 2001 and 2002 where she got 2 Gold and 3 Bronze medals.

Sophie went to the National Championships between 1998 – 2007 where she gained 3 Gold, 10 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals amongst many finals and held 6 British records (British Long Course Age Group record, 18 years for 200m IM and 400m IM and English age Group Record for 200m and 400m IM long course and the British Short Course Record, 4x100m British Medley Team).

Adam Ruckwood

Adam has coached swimmers to medal winning performances at European Championships, Commonwealth Games, World Student Games, World Junior Championships, European Junior Championships, European Youth Olympics and World Schools Games.  Adam was Head Coach of the City of Birmingham Swimming Club for six years before taking up the position of Head Coach of the City of Coventry Swimming Club in August 2010 where he still coaches.

He has also coached numerous other internationals, National Senior and Junior Champions and British Record Holders, including Sophie Grosvenor mentioned above.

As a swimmer Adam swam for Great Britain at three Olympic Games in 1992 (Barcelona), 1996 (Atlanta) and 2000 (Sydney).  He won numerous medals at international level including 1 Silver and 2 Bronze at European Championships (1995, 1998, 1999)  and 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze at Commonwealth Games (1994, 2002) and was a five-time World Championship finalist. Adam also held 16 British Records and 1 Commonwealth Record.

Sarah began her swimming career in the Learn To Swim section at Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.

Sarah represented her Swimming Clubs, County and Southern Associations between 1991 – 2005.  Sarah also represented Great Britain and England across many international meets in the Backstroke and Freestyle events from 1994 – 2005 including Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championship, and Commonwealth Games.  Sarah competed at two Olympic Games (Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004).

Sarah set her first British record in 1997 in the 50m backstroke when she was 17 years of age.  Sarah then went on to break 35 British Records, 9 Commonwealth Records, 2 European Records and 1 World Record.  Over the years she won 13 international major game medals – 2 Gold and 4 Bronze medals at Commonwealth Games (1998, 2002) 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals and European Championships (1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004).

Sarah wants to give back to the sport by passing on her knowledge to a new generation through her passion for swimming, learning to swim and giving everyone the best chance to succeed.

Mark was a swimmer for many years and met his wife Sophie through the sport.

Mark went through the Learn to Swim programme at Fox Hollies to become a National swimmer from 1999 – 2004.  His journey took him through Solihull Swimming Club, City of Birmingham Swimming Club and then City Of Coventry Swimming Club.  Mark was a highly talented breaststroke swimmer at a young age but following a serious knee injury at the age of 12 he used his solid background developed at learn to swim and club level to transfer his skills set to become a backstroke swimmer.

Mark was regularly seen in National finals throughout his career. He was Midland Champion and  swam for Warwickshire County at every age level and also competed year in year out at the English Schools Championships, captioning his team in 2002.
